Insight Bites – Innovation Panel

Our next ‘Insight Bites’ networking event will be held on Friday May 11th, 2018 and will focus on the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the funding and growth stages of a new business or venture and early stage disruption. We will be joined by a panel of successful entrepreneurs and innovators, including:

♦ David Martin, Innovation Facilitator – QLD, AusIndustry

David works with executives across multiple industries from large and small organisations to facilitate innovative solutions to complex and wicked problems.

David has maximised opportunities for Australian industry in $88 billion dollars of major projects, delivered financial assistance of over $22 million dollars to innovative SME’s and pulled together over 120 commercially astute bleeding edge research/industry collaborations that have resulted in novel technology and jobs of the future.

♦ Yotam Rosenbaum, ICT Entrepreneur in Residence 

Yotam is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, he relocated to Los Angeles where he worked as a composer, drummer, and band leader. He composed award winning music for film, TV, and commercials.

In 2010, he co-founded Earbits Radio, a music startup funded by top silicon valley investors, including Y-Combinator, WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg, Charles River Ventures, and more.

In 2017, Yotam took a role as COO with Answerky, another Y-Combinator company. Answerky was awarded the Hot DesQ grant from the Queensland Government, and as a result, relocated to Brisbane, Australia. Later that year Yotam joined QUT Bluebox as ICT Entrepreneur in Residence.

♦ Rowan Grant, Partner, Full Circle Venture Capital

Rowan is a partner at Full Circle Venture Capital and a Director at Black Sheep Capital.  Through these firms, he invests in early-stage tech companies in Australia.  He focuses on companies at the seed and series A stage in SaaS, Fintech, logistics and market places.  Previously he was an associate at Steve Baxter’s family office, Transition Level Investments.  Rowan is a Chartered Accountant and has EMBA and Bachelors in Business (Accounting) from QUT.

♦ David Ryan, Managing Director & Co-founder, Corilla

David Ryan is the Managing Director and Co-founder of Corilla, a publishing tool for technical writers that solves the problem of collaboratively authoring & managing software documentation in the cloud.

David is responsible for Corilla’s strategic direction, product management, team building and growth strategy.

Corilla is also an Advance QLD Hot DesQ recipient. Hot DesQ is an Australian-first program that lures international and interstate startups to Queensland to pursue their businesses and help grow the entrepreneurial sector in the State.
